Hey there,
I'm Amber

I created the integrated athlete as a way for people to reach their physical and mental peak. In a world full of noise, I will guide you in using stillness to propel yourself forward.

I truly believe that yoga can help you find strength you never knew you had. I will show you how to use your breath along with subtle movement adjustments to find more ease and feel your best. With over 13 years of experience in athletics, I have seen people at their highest highs and lowest lows and know how to navigate between the two.

My goal is to be a relatable voice to bridge the competitive sport mindset with the slower yogic lifestyle to reach your full potential in life and on the field. In stillness, there is movement.

My story

My first yoga class was in 2006 – I remember afterward looking at my friend and saying “Yea, I don’t think that’s for me”. Fast forward to my first job out of college where I was classically overworked and underpaid. I tried yoga again: I felt calmer, I felt happier, and I was a better version of myself.

As an athletic trainer, I started incorporating yoga poses and techniques into my treatment plans. I contemplated becoming a yoga instructor for years and finally took the leap in 2022. The first day of training, our teacher told us to cultivate a consistent meditation practice. My reaction again was, “Yea, I don’t think that’s for me”. Well, I sure was wrong about that. To my surprise, meditation has become an important part of my day, providing clarity and stillness in a full schedule.

My yoga journey has changed my life in ways I could never have anticipated. I look forward to fusing my background in injury prevention and rehabilitation with traditional yoga techniques to transform athletes.

I have worked with athletes across the board; soccer, fencing, tennis, cheerleading, lacrosse, volleyball, baseball and hockey. I have worked with national team athletes, Division I athletes, junior college athletes, high school athletes and junior hockey athletes. I have seen many injuries over my career; some that merely interfered, some that ended seasons. One of the most important lessons I have learned is to treat the athlete in a holistic way incorporating both the body and the mind in my treatment programs. Yoga is the perfect medium to help athletes reach their fullest potential.

What can you expect from taking a yoga class with me? Fun, creative sequencing. Tailored programming to the individual’s unique needs.
